FERRITE CORES, NOISE SUPPRESSION CHOKES
These happy little helpers...
are ideal for subsequent installation on USB-, FireWire-, VGA- or power infeed cables. The ferrite cores, consisting of two half-shells firmly seated in a plastic housing, only have to be closed around the cable.
Their magnetic resistance keeps the cable properties from changing and also prevents eddy-currents. So the ferrite core acts as a noise filter for high frequency interference, created for example by computers. They are primarily implemented in electrical or high-frequency technologies (antenna construction). In some cases it also makes sense to use them on HiFi RCA-connection cables, but this depends on the particular condition such as for example the interference caused by a certain unit.
