SOMMER CABLE - SC-CARBOKAB 225

The same as every year...we are introducing new cable constructions for studio technologies that are very impressive to the user. Solid wires are still preferred for inside conductors, with increased conductivity of the surface layer and a stranding technique that improves audio transmission. But this is only true in theory, because a solid wire also has a lot of disadvantages. For one, it is so hard that it can damage the wire pair insulation with even a slight movement and it lacks flexibility, meaning that the copper can be compressed by even a slight surface bent. Also the drag on the plug connector pins should not be underestimated. To solve this problem SOMMER CABLE has developed the new SC-CARBOKAB 225. It has conductor smoothing material made of high-density carbon directly applied to the concentrically stranded litz. With the electrical advantages of a solid wire it stays flexible and ensures consistent, excellent attributes. The good transmission properties of the SC-CARBOKAB 225 also ensure an absolutely linear sound image over longer distances of up to 656 ft. The 100 % opaque shielding (AL-fleece + copper braiding) is very important, because the peripheral units in the studio (effect units, computers, synthesizers, etc.) emit a lot of interference signals. For insulation we use a special mixture of HD-PP, which ensures lowest capacitive attributes. With this cable you are “state-of-the-art“ and will be able to avoid tiring “esoteric“ discussions in the future!
THE ADVANTAGES: - Linear audio transmission due to carbon conductor smoothing, including the advantages of a solid wire
- Low capacity due to the use of the high end insulating material HD-PP
- Excellent shielding with copper braiding (+ filler litz) and AL-fleece
- High conductivity due to the use of oxygen-free copper, Class 6
THE APPLICATION: - Highly professional studio and installation technology
- Demanding OB Van technology
- First rate HiFi-connection (conductors red and white on Pin 1, separate shielding)
