that the colorful fibre-optic bundles from the seventies would someday also be able to transmit digital audio signals?Contrary to the common cheap fibres, those with approx. 0.4 dB/m already reaching a critical range starting at 20 ft, the SC-OCTOPUS is a high quality cable with a damping value of less than 0.16 dB per meter, thus offering safe transmission properties even for longer lengths.
With a bending radius of only 1.181 in. the SC-OCTOPUS can be installed even in small spaces. The optimum wavelength is 660 nm.
Suitable tools and Toslink-plug connectors for easy do-it-yourself installation are available under “Plug connectors“.
