or, more precisely, you can reach the simple speed of light with our SC-Octopus-G FO cable. Thus digital audio and video signals can be transmitted over long distances of up to 2 km / 6,562 ft. (at 100 Mbit/s). We deliver the multimode gradient fibers with a core diameter of 50 µm (insulation/cladding Ø 125 µm) in OM3 grade for the 1,500 Mhz bandwidth. OM3 fibers meet the requirements of modern FOC interfaces (laser coupling instead of LED) which demand high data rates >6 Gbit/s and closely toleranced limit values for the differential mode delay (max. 100 ps). With OM3 the 10 Gbit standard enables up to 300 m (984 ft.) of transmission distance. The SC-Octopus-G PUR variant is drummable, flame-retardant pursuant to IEC332-1 and perfectly suitable for mobile applications.
