No problem - because the Fiber eXTreme eXTenders (XT2) from Sommer cable's long-standing partner Belram can overcome almost any distance. The XT2 series is now also available with HICON's HI-FIBER4 system, offering a powerful solution for the uncompressed transmission of video and data signals over fiber optics. Designed for professional use in broadcast, live events, AV installations and industrial environments, these extenders enable a stable, latency-free signal transmission over long distances of up to 10 km (singlemode) or 1 km (multimode) - even under demanding conditions.
Depending on the model, the series transmits HDMI signals up to 4K60 4:4:4, 12G-SDI, Gigabit Ethernet and USB over a singlemode or multimode fiber. Thanks to true plug-and-play functionality, commissioning takes just seconds: no complex configuration, no delays - the fiber extenders are ready for immediate use.
Field-ready design & status feedback
All XT2 extenders are housed in robust, extruded aluminum enclosures designed for tough use in live events, rental applications or demanding installation environments. The high-quality mechanical construction ensures durability, resistance to shock and vibration and optimum protection against environmental influences.
The XT2 extender series uses the HI-FIBER4 socket from HICON for the fiber interface. Combined with the HI-FIBER4-MC connector made from solid metal, featuring IP68 protection (when mated) and a push-and-pull locking mechanism, this creates a truly road-ready overall system. Thanks to the connector compatibility of the HI-FIBER4 socket, up to four conventional LC-connectors or two LC-duplex-connectors can alternatively be connected directly to the extender.
Integrated LED status indicators provide real-time information on signal availability and connection status - for easier troubleshooting and stress-free setup.
In addition to the HI-Fiber4 socket, the extenders are also available with opticalCON or FiberFox.
