The electrical laboratory spring plugs developed by Hirschmann GmbH in 1926 are regarded as the forerunners of today's banana plugs, which owe their name to the banana-shaped leaf spring tip. banana-shaped leaf spring tip. The 4 mm version can still be found today in almost all hi-fi speaker connections in the upper quality classes.
The banana plug is gold-plated and has a screw clamp for fastening. The housing is made of plastic and the plug is suitable for cables with a maximum diameter of 4.2 mm. The colour of the plug is black.
